3rd Generation Farmer
Fair Winds Farmstead is a family farm founded by Christopher and Ashley Mackes. Christopher comes from multi-generational farmers, with a background in farming that includes pasture raised, grass fed beef livestock, sustainable agriculture and market gardening. Ashley Mackes is a 1st generation farmer, with a big love for cooking for others, canning and preserving fresh food. They also have a wonderful young son who loves to help with farm chores, especially collecting eggs, enjoys helping mommy with cooking and will be participating in his first 4H here soon.
Fair Winds Farmstead is the evolution of decades of learning and experience with sustainable agriculture and healthy eating. We are passionate about providing food that sustains the land and feeds families in the healthiest way possible.
ABOUT FAIR WINDS FARMSTEAD
Fair Winds Farmstead is a small family farm in Windsor, VA. We are focused on fresh, sustainably grown produce and naturally raised chicken and eggs. We try hard to use methods that preserve the integrity of the land and provide wholesome, fresh food for our customers. We believe food is fresher, more nutritious, and more able to sustain itself as a system if it’s produced close to where it’s consumed. Our products also have no hormones or antibiotics.
